How to Meet Your Fundraising Goal:

Funds raised through the Scenic Shore 150 help The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Wisconsin Chapter provide numerous programs and services for those living with leukemia, lymphoma and other blood cancers in Wisconsin, as well as funding research, which is helping people with these terrible diseases everyday.

The following fundraising ideas will help you meet and exceed your pledge goal.

Types of Fundraising

  • Face-to-face fundraising
  • Letter-writing campaign (see examples)
  • Email fundraising
  • Independent fundraiser (car wash, lemonade sales, etc.)

Fundraising Strategies

  • Start with your own personal donation
  • Remember you are not asking for the contribution for yourself, you are asking on behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
  • Educate your sponsors about leukemia & lymphoma and the Society
  • Personalize your appeals by using familiar details about yourself, your history with the event, or why you are participating.
  • Share why the event is fun, important to you, and important to all those battling the diseases.
  • Follow up with a phone call or thank you letter explaining how successful and fun the event was.

Utilize A Variety Of Sources For Collecting Pledges:

  • Family
  • Friends
  • Colleagues
  • Business associates
  • Old classmates
  • Church
  • Your child's school

How Corporate Matches Can Help

Many companies have Matching Gift Programs where employees make a charitable contribution and the company matches that. Find out if your company has a matching gift program and ask those who are pledging you if their company has one too. The sooner this is done the better, some companies will only cut checks on specified dates. To learn more about matching gift programs, contact your human resources department.
