Central California Man & Woman of the Year

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Central California 2009 Man & Woman of the Year

2008 Winners - 2008 Boy & Girl of the Year

The Man & Woman of the Year campaign is a fundraising competition among community leaders who vie for the honor of being the Man or Woman of the Year.  Candidates are nominated by their peers and are judged solely on a philanthropic basis.  The 2009 Man & Woman of the Year will be named based on their success in generating funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society during a ten week campaign which will begin at the Kick-off Party and will culminate at the Grand Finale Celebration on May 16, 2009.  The candidates raise money in honor of local blood cancer survivors, Darya Oreizi and Nasim Rad, our Boy and Girl of the Year.

Why become a candidate for Man & Woman of the Year?

  • In honor of the Boy & Girl of the Year
  • In support of survivors
  • Medical research
  • Local and national recognition
  • Prize incentives
  • Help find a cure

This honor recognizes Valley professionals for their generous spirit and desire to contribute to the Society's mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma and other blood cancers.  As a candidate for the Man & Woman of the Year, you have an opportunity to make a difference and perhaps even to save a life.  We encourage you to throw your hat into the ring!  While there will only be one Man & Woman of the Year, with your help, we will all be winners in the race for a cure!

The campaign will kick off Saturday, March 7 2009.  The Candidates will have an opportunity to meet the 2009 Boy & Girl of the Year and hear success stories from past participants.

The campaign will conclude with the Grand Finale Celebration.  The candidates will be showcased and the winners of the 2009 Man & Woman of the Year will be announced.  This fabulous event will provide outstanding food, music and a silent auction.
