Learn About Organizing an Event to Benefit LLS

Many people support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's efforts by conducting events, such as dinner/auction parties, boat cruises, candlelight bowling, raffles, golf events and community walks.  In addition, businesses often donate a portion of their proceeds to the Society.  By conducting a fundraiser on our behalf, you not only raise much needed funds to support our mission, you also increase awareness of leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

Do you want to host an event of your own?  Please scroll down for details.

In order to ensure consistency among our fundraising events, please abide by our Third Party Event guidelines when you are planning your event.    We also request that anyone wishing to host an event sign and return our Third_Party_Special_Event_Agreement.

How to Plan a Fundraising Event

  • Determine the theme and date of the event.
  • Contact people or businesses and ask them to donate items to support your event and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
  • Put an invitation list together. (Utilize your friend's friends - you can even ask a friend to co-host the event with you to increase the number of potential attendees.)
  • Determine the admission fee.  Make sure you ask for enough, as only a portion is a tax-deductible donation.
  • Create a flyer or e-vite to promote the event and remember to mention that the proceeds benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
  • Include additional money making mini-events at your party, such as a silent auction or a raffle.
  • Have a great time and remember to thank your donors and guests!
