2009 Man & Woman of the Year Candidate Recruitment is Underway!
The Man & Woman of the Year campaign is a ten week competition to raise funds to cure blood cancers. Campaign participants are individuals in the community who utlize their leadership abilities and resources to conduct their own fundraising campaigns for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Who Can Run?
Candidates are philanthropic, ambitious, socially active, resourceful, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of those touched by blood cancers.
How Do I Raise Funds?
LLS staff provides tremendous support to candidates with ideas and tools to execute a successful fundraising campaign. We encourage candidates to have fun, too! Past candidates have planned letter writing campaigns, art auctions, bake sales, wine tasting events, golf outings, yard sales...and anything else they can think of to raise money for the cure! Every dollar collected counts as "one vote."
How Do I Spread the Word about the Society Mission?
Candidates raise funds in honor of the Boy & Girl of the Year, Mark Isabelle and Heather Means, local blood cancer patient survivors. Candidates receive their stories and bios to help share their experiences with potential donors.
