The following rules are put in place to ensure that all Ski4Life participants are safe, comfortable and happy. Please respect your fellow athletes, the Ski Roundtop staff, and the Ski4Life volunteers. On behalf of our patients, thank you for being a part of this amazing event and good luck! Rule #1 - ALWAYS follow the Skier (Your) Responsibility Code. Ski Roundtop will be open to the general public throughout the event and safety is always our number one priority. The Skier Responsibility Code is posted on all trail maps. Rule #2 - Pace yourself! This is a marathon not a sprint. By raising a charitable donation you are already a winner. Log as many vertical feet as you can safely. Be honest to yourself, your fellow competitors, the event, and Ski Roundtop staff. Practice good sportsmanship at all times! Rule #3 - Have Fun! VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE ABOVE RULES WILL RESULT IN YOUR IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION! Other Rules - Donations will stop being counted toward fundraising totals for prizes at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 6.
- All competitors must wear their bibs at all times while competing. Bibs are issued during event registration in the Main Lodge (base level floor).
- The event starts at 9 a.m. sharp Saturday, March 6. Participants will assemble on the patio at 8:30 a.m. On the command: "Skiers, on your mark" (move with skis to flat area adjacent Main Lodge); "Get Set" (place skis on), "Go" (pole or skate to the base of Minuteman Chairlift)."
- During Ski Roundtop's normal operating hours (8 a.m.-10 p.m.), skiing can take place as per the description on the course map.
- A par time for the long lap has been established by Mountain Safety. Any competitor skiing the lap faster than the par time will not receive credit for that lap and the team/individual may be subject to further penalty (sit out for 30 minutes, first offense; disqualification, second offense). Event Chair is final authority.
- The event will end at 9 p.m. Competitors still on course at that time will not be given credit for their last lap.
- Major prizes will be awarded to teams and individuals raising the most donations for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Smaller prizes will be awarded to teams and individuals with the most vertical feet.
- Skiers needing a place to rest are encouraged to use the lodge, respecting all guests and staff.
Any extraordinary issues that arise during the race need to be discussed with the Ski4Life staff. Staff will be in communications with Mountain Safety and the Race Headquarters tent at all times. The rules are basic and provide a general framework for the event. Please remember the top three rules at all times and have a blast!
