About the Honoree

Becky Jester  ~ Leukemia Survivor

Becky is a college student who just graduated with her Associate's of Arts degree and is now attending The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During the school year, Becky lives in her basement apartment in Chapel Hill. While not in school, she lives in Louisburg with her family, dogs and cats and is the youngest of six children. In April, 2003, Becky was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia.  She has undergone extensive chemotherapy treatment, but she is currently in remission... what a great feeling! Like most girls her age, Becky enjoys chatting on-line, reading, playing computer games, golfing and spending time with her family.  One day, she would like to work with kids who are dealing with cancer and their families as a psychologist for trauma and chronic illnesses.
