In communities across the country, men and women are helping fund research that one day will cure blood cancers. Funds raised through The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Man & Woman of the Year campaign are invested by LLS in leading-edge research to find new therapies and cures for blood cancers. The funds are used to provide patients, their families and friends with blood cancer information and services to help them live better, longer lives.
The 2009 Man & Woman of the Year will be named based on their success in generating funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society during a ten-week campaign which will begin at the Kick-off Party on April 2 and will culminate at the Grand Finale Celebration on June 12. The candidates raise money in honor of local blood cancer survivors, our Boy & Girl of the Year.
