What is Man & Woman of the Year
Man & woman of the Year is a 10-week friendly fundraising competition benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, in which candidates compete for the titles in honor of local children, the Boy & Girl of the Year.
Local business and community leaders are nominated, and those who accept, become competing candidates agreeing to raise at least $10,000. Judged solely on a philanthropic basis, the candidate raising the most funds wins. After the competition ends, those winning the titles of Orange County and Inland Empire's Man & Woman of the Year are recognized in various business and society newspaper ads and in a national ad in USA Today. All candidates are featured in at least one ad inside Orange County and Inland Empire publications.
