The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Eastern NC Chapter is seeking a marketing intern. The individual will be responsible for increasing awareness of LLS and it's major fundraising campaign, Team in Training, in the Triangle area. This is a great opportunity to experience working in a nonprofit environment while enhancing marketing skills.
This will be accomplished by advertising through Web sites, media, business partnerships, and promotional materials.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
• Professional demeanor
• Willingness to learn
• Prefer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
• Prefer candidates majoring in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations or similar field
Responsibilities:
• Develop ongoing communication with campaign prospects and alumni
• Assists in the creation and distribution of press lists, media advisories, calendar listings, pitch letters and press releases
• Assists in Monitoring and maintaining chapter Web sites for consistency, accuracy and overall effectiveness.
• Assist in generating and executing grassroots initiatives for Team in Training.
• Assists in the collection of media clips and the creation of a media binder to display clips.
• Maintains a working knowledge of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society mission.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Must be able to dedicate 6-9 hours per week. Work hours are flexible in order to work around class schedules.
This internship is unpaid.
The length of the internship can be determined by the candidate.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health
agency dedicated to blood cancer. The LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma,
Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients
and their families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the
world and provides free information and support services.
