The Hudson River Swim For Life
Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009
The 18th Annual Hudson River Swim for Life which was held on Sunday, September 13, 2009 attracted swimmers of all ages and abilities but they all have one thing in common: they swam to raise money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and for Friends of Claire, whose mission it is to support the fight against ALS. This year the event attracted 260 swimmers, 110 kayakers and over 100 volunteers. Fifty seven swimmers chose a one mile route this year, swimming parallel to the shore, while the rest swam 3 miles from Nyack, NY to Sleepy Hollow, NY.
