What is Dress Down Day?

Dress Down Day is an annual event to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society^®. We encourage companies, organizations and clubs to participate in this event by asking their employees and members to donate $5 to the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society^® to dress down for the day.

When is Dress Down Day?

Dress Down Day is Thursday July 16, 2009.  If you would like to participate on another day that's fine - please just let us know and we'll send you the supplies.

How do I organize this event?

Organizing the event takes little time and effort. Your company should designate a Dress Down Day coordinator who will register your company and receive the participation kit with all of the materials to make your event successful.

Your coordinator can make this event as simple or as involved as he/she wants to. There are a lot of ways to make your event a success.

How can I register my company?

Registration for Dress Down Day can be done as soon as your company designates an event coordinator. Your company can register by:

• completing the registration form and faxing it to

• You must register your company in order to receive your participation kit. We do not automatically mail out the participation kit to the businesses who participated in previous years.  

Is there any cost to the company for participating in Dress Down Day?

There is no cost to your company for participating in Dress Down Day. All participation kits are provided to your company free of charge.

What does the Participation Kit include?

Your participation kit will include:
brochures 
1 information sheet/donation sheet
1 remittance envelope 
1 poster
and you choose how many adhesive "dress down" stickers your business will require

When our event is over, where do I send the donations to?

Your Dress Down Day coordinator will receive a self-addressed envelope with your participation kit. If you do not have this envelope please mail your donation to:

Be sure to include your donation sheet with your contribution. If you don't have your donation sheet please include a business card or write your name or business name on a note.

Please send in your donation as soon as possible after hosting your Dress Down Day event. 

What is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society^®?

Do employees have to donate $5 to participate?

No, the $5 donation is only suggested. Some employees may want to donate less than $5 and others may want to donate more than $5. Donations of any amount are appreciated.

To whom should personal and/or company checks be made payable?

Any personal checks, company checks or money orders must be made payable to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and mailed to:

My company wants to match our employees' donations. How do we do that?

When you send in your donations, please include your company's matching gift form with your donation. Usually, your company will have these forms but if not include a letter with your donations. In your letter state that your company has matched the employees donations. If your company requires a tax receipt for their portion of the donation, please include that information on your donation sheet.

My company already has casual Fridays. How can we participate?

Many companies already allow a casual dress code, but we encourage you to still participate. Use creative ways to dress down or visit our Materials and Ideas section.

Remember - Dress Down Day is about finding a cure for cancer, dressing down is a bonus.

Can my company have Dress Down Day on another day other than the official date?

Your company can participate on any day that is more convenient for you and your employees. Just fill in the date on the registration form and your package will be sent to you in plenty of time for your event.
