Diamond Ball

18th Annual Diamond Ball
Saturday, February 27, 2010
Samuel's Grande Manor

The 2009 "Service to Mankind" award recipient was Paul Nanula, President & CEO of Wilson Farms Inc.

The Diamond Ball is the premier black tie event of the Western & Central New York Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The concept of the Diamond Ball is that each guest receives a pouch containing a genuine gemstone; and one guest goes home with a ONE-CARAT DIAMOND.

The evening begins with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres during a Silent Auction that features a variety of luxury items and a collection of many unique pieces donated by the community. Dinner and a program follows, and then guests may dance the night away with a live band.

The highlight of the Diamond Ball is the "Service to Mankind" award ceremony. The ceremony comprises of blood cancer patients of all ages that each present the recipient with a rose, and the next month of patient aid is funded in the recipient's honor.

The 2010 "Service to Mankind" recipient is John Rodgers, Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer, Independent Health. Mr. Rodgers was chosen for his phenomenal service on various LLS committees and his committment to advancing the mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, Hodgkin's disease and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

Funds raised from the Diamond Ball will support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
