Miniature Golf Classic

The Miniature Golf Classic will take place on a challenging outdoor18-hole golf outing on Saturday, May 4, 2002 at the Family Golf Center in Wayne, NJ and on Saturday, May 18, 2002 at the Randolph Driving Range Center in Randolph, NJ.  Fantastic prizes, hole-in-one and longest drive contests, brunch and exciting auctions will highlight the day's event.

Funds raised will benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's research and patient services programs. Thanks to the dedication of the Society and its researchers, many blood-related cancer treatments are now possible and we are able to fulfill our mission of finding cures for these diseases and improving the lives of patients and their families.

The event's honorary distinguished guest will be U.S. Rep. Michael Ferguson (R-Union).
HarlanOur Honored Patient will be 12-year-old Harlan Fiorito of Berkeley Heights, NJ.  Harlan was born on May 17, 1989 and diagnosed in November, 1996, at age 7 with acute myelogenous leukemia.  He began treatment at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ and was later transferred to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan, NY.  Harlan is in sixth grade at Columbia Middle School and is part of the soccer, indoor hockey and baseball teams for Berkeley Heights.  We are happy to say that Harlan is in remission and doing well!

We Need Your help!   The Society seeks the help of a local committee to assist us with the following:

  • Sponsorship recruitment
  • Publicity
  • Logistics
  • Auction prizes
  • Ticket sales

The committee will meet about once a month for no longer than an hour to discuss event details.  As a committee member, you will be taking an important step to help The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society fulfill its mission.  Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002 at 7 p.m. at our office in Springfield. For further information or to become a volunteer, contact The Society at (973) 376-9559.
