2009 Scenic Shore 150 Bike Tour

Presented By:

July 18th and 19th, 2009

Thank You For Making The 2009 Scenic Shore 150 Bike Tour A Success!

A special Thank You from the Wisconsin Chapter Board President:

As president of the Wisconsin Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society AND as a first time rider, I want to personally thank you for all that you have done to make this year's Scenic Shore 150 a huge success. I had worked the event before but never had tested my muscles (and posterior) to ride the course. My wife and daughter rode last year and convinced me to do it this year. My wife is a ALL survivor and an inspiration to me. The cause is near and dear to me reinforced by the fact that my first wife died of ALL in 1979. I WILL be doing the ride again next year. We will build on what each of you have done this year to make next year even better. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Participants can take pride in knowing that they are riding to find a cure for blood cancers by having over 74 cents of every dollar directed to patient care and research.

The five-year relative survival rate for the most common form of childhood cancer, Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL), has risen from 4% 30 years ago to 86% today.  Bone marrow transplants were pioneered by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society researchers and have saved thousands of lives.  Since 1949 over $424 million has been dedicated to research, because we believe leukemia research findings are a key to finding cures to all cancers.
