The First Connection Program brings patients and their families the opportunity to share experiences with someone who has "been through it" and to obtain valuable information on LLS and community resources. Patients and caregivers learn the coping skills they need, while the survivor volunteers make a meaningful, caring contribution by sharing their special perspectives on the recovery process. To participate, contact your local chapter.

Through its Patient Financial Aid Program, LLS provides $150 assistance for all blood cancer patients regardless of income. An annual application completed by your doctor is required. If you're here to apply, please fill-out and mail the online application form to your local chapter. Don't forget to include your receipts when you turn in the reimbursement form.

Our chapters offer Public Health Education programs facilitated by doctors and nurses free of charge to help clarify treatment options and strengthen decision-making and coping skills for patients and their families.  Upcoming programs are posted on our calendar

Facilitated by volunteer nurses and social workers, our Support Groups meet monthly throughout the Bay Area.  All patients, family members and friends affected by blood cancers are invited to come together to share experiences and ask questions.

LLS's Advocacy program promtoes increased federal funding of biomedical research and to influence health care reform issues including access to appropriate specialty care and coverage of clinical trials. Visit the Action Center to make change today.

The Back to School program was developed to foster communication among healthcare professionals, parents, young patients and school personnel in preparation for the return to school and other activities. Informative materials, videos and a wealth of literature are available here.

Project Share Life is a collaborative effort between LLS and local Rotary clubs to raise funds and organize marrow typing drives for the National Marrow Donor Program registry, a pool of potential donor matches for patients who need a transplant.

Survivors and their families inspire our Team In Training, Light The Night and other event participants to raise even more money to cure cancer by becoming Honorees. Would you like to share your story? Contact your local chapter.

Camp Okizu offers the unique opportunity for children with cancer (and their siblings) to learn independence, nourish positive self-esteem and gain skills they never thought were possible. At camp kids can be in a safe, trusting environment. It is a place for fun, lasting friendships and development of self confidence.
