The Washington/Alaska Chapter hosts fundraising events throughout the year.  Whatever your interest, there is a way for you to get involved, have fun and accelerate cures.  View our upcoming events calendar, or learn about specific events below:

Team In Training 

Logo

Team In Training® is the world's largest endurance sports training program. Participants receive personalized coaching, fundraising support, and motivation to complete a full or half marathon, triathlon, cycle century, hike or cross-country ski event. In return, participants raise funds to support the LLS mission.

Light The Night Logo


 
Light The Night Walk® Our annual evening walk to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer. Each September, teams of friends, families and co-workers gather to walk in twilight, carrying illuminated balloons to honor and remember those touched by blood cancers. The evening includes music, food and family activities.

Pennies Logo

School & Youth Programs Local schools are making a difference in the fight for a cure... one penny at a time. Pennies for Patients and Olive Garden's Pasta for Pennies campaigns teach compassion and build character as students across Washington and Alaska collect spare change to help kids with cancer. www.schoolandyouth.org/ak

Leukemia Cup Regatta logo

The Leukemia Cup Regatta & Poker Run Sailors and power boaters spend the day on the water, then join together for dinner, auctions and inspiration. Held in June. Noted sailing expert and ESPN commentator, Gary Jobson, serves as the national chairman of the event.

The Big Climb for Leukemia offers participants a challenging workout, a stunning finish line, and the chance to make a real difference in the fight against blood cancers. Held every March at the Columbia Center in Seattle, this is a great event for the whole family. The 69-flight course includes 1,311 steps, 19 steps per flight and 788 feet of vertical elevation.

Firefighter Logo

Scott Firefighter Stairclimb
This unique race to the top of the Columbia Center in full combat gear and self contained breathing apparati (SCBA) is the largest individual firefighter competition in the world. The Scott Firefighter Stairclimb supports the mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, raising money through sponsorships, individual and department fundraising, and entry fees.

The Winter Pineapple Classic Run or walk this 5k team adventure race where participants must navigate a series of obstacles and physical challenges. Held in November, the event is designed for teams of two or four, and is open to anyone from 12 to 112 with a sense of adventure. The event concludes with an authentic Hawaiian luau.

The Celebrity Waiters Luncheon & Auction is a strikingly original Friday luncheon founded in Seattle in 1984. Combining great items, fantastic waiters, and over-the-top table themes, the Seattle and Tacoma Celebrity Waiters Luncheons raise more than $500,000 annually.
