
The Kansas State University (K-State) and Univerity of Kansas (KU) chapters of the Phi Gamma Delta (Fiji) fraternity joined forces and put aside their school loyalties to raise funds and run in honor of Rod Morgan, a fraternity brother who died of leukemia in 1974.
On November 7, 2009, the Fijis of K-State and KU will run the game-day football from Lawrence to Manhattan for the annual intrastate football showdown between these two Big 12 universities.
This year marks the 36th annual FIJI Run for Leukemia. During the weeks preceding the big game, the brothers of Phi Gamma Delta solicited donations and sponsorships for the run. Over the years, the Fiji Run has raised more than $650,000.
