WELCOME TO THE GATEWAY CHAPTER'S

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Man & Woman of the Year is a national campaign where individuals across the country raise funds to cure leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood-related cancers.  This year, over 500 candidates in 54 cities across the United States participated.

All candidates vying for the title of Man & Woman of the Year utilize their leadership abilities to conduct their own fundraising campaigns for LLS during a 10-week period of time.  Every dollar counts as one vote.  The male and female candidates with the most votes are named the chapter's Man & Woman of the Year at our Grand Finale event held in June.  Their totals are then considered for the national title.  Local winners are featured on billboards across the city in October and November and all candidates are featured in the August issue of Alive Magazine and on a separate billboard in the Fall as well.

Congratulations to our 2009 Man & Woman of the Year

Debbie Etter of Nottelmann Music Company raised $7,052.50 and Mike Pettit of Sansone Group raised $6,564.     

Boy & Girls of the Year: Katie, Taylor, & Isaac

Other candidates this year included Jules Karagiannis of The Tenderloin Room, Renee Strutman of Heartland Payment Systems, and Matt Hall with Hill Investment Group.  All of our candidates combined, helped raise over $33,000 locally this year in honor of our Boy and Girls of the year, Isaac, Katie, & Taylor.  Thank you everyone for your wonderful support of LLS!

Our Chapter will launch its 2010 campaign in April '10.

2007 Man & Woman of the Year Photos - Kick Off and Grand Finale photos

2008 Man & Woman Photos - Check out pictures from the 2008 Man & Woman of the Year Gateway Chapter's Kick-off and Grand Finale! Kick-off was held at Harrah's Casino & Hotel on April 24, 2008, where candidates were introduced and the competition began! A short 10-weeks later on June 26, 2008 candidates, friends, and families gathered at Bartolino's Osteria for our Grand Finale celebration. Delicious appetizers, drinks, music, and were enjoyed by all!
