About the Kansas Chapter
One of 68 chapters in the United States and Canada, the Kansas Chapter provides programs and services for all Kansas residents. (Please note that residents living in Douglas, Johnson, Leavenworth, Miami and Wyandotte counties are served by the Society's Mid-America Chapter.)
The Kansas Chapter hosts a number of special events that increase funding for our programs and increase public awareness. They include: Team In Training, Light The Night Walk, Pennies for Patients, Man & Woman of the Year, Fiji Run for Leukemia and the LLS Golf Tournament.
The chapter's activities are supervised and directed by its Board of Trustees. It relies on contributions from individuals, corporations, unions, foundations, clubs, organizations, special events, bequests and memorials. The chapter offers many ways for people to be involved through its various programs and volunteer opportunities.
The Society is dedicated to finding cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improving the quality of life of patients and their families. We strive to acceleratre our mission through a variety of programs, including research, patient aid, public health education, advocacy and community service.
