2009 LEUKEMIA CUP REGATTA

Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 19 & 20: White Bear Lake, MN

Rules: The Regatta will be governed by the current Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of US Sailing, the rules of each class concerned, the Notice of Race, the sailing instructions, and any other applicable rules.

Classes: ALL SAILBOATS WELCOME!  Any recognized one-design with three (3) or more vessels will be eligible for their own start and awards, and other boats will be handicapped appropriately.  OPEN class for any vessel 19 feet or less will use its Portsmouth rating.  All others will use their PHRF rating.

Start Time: Morning races will start as soon as is practical after the skippers' meetings; the Saturday afternoon race will not start later than 2:30 p.m. due to the Saturday evening festivities.

Skippers' Meetings: 8:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday; located at  Regatta headquarters, White Bear Boat Works. 

Entry: A completed Official Registration Form, a copy of the yacht's current PHRF Rating Certificate, and the entry fee ($75) must be submitted to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on or before Monday, Sept. 7, to qualify for early entry fee and boat name on Regatta T-shirt; after Sept. 7, the fee is $85.   

Courses: Courses will be announced at Saturday Skippers' Meeting.

Alternative Penalties:  Any yacht wishing to protest another yacht must fill out a six-page protest form in duplicate and submit to the Race Committee within 30 seconds of the First-Place finisher. (This is a fundraiser for blood cancers, and an opportunity to have a good time!)

Scoring: ONE DESIGN: Low point scoring system.
               PHRF: All non-One Design boats will be scored as PHRF. 
 
Awards: Race awards will be given to the top three (3) positions for each class or section.
