Black Tie Ball

A special thanks to all of those who helped make the 2010 Simply Beautiful Black Tie Ball a great success!

Pat and Beth McCown (left), the 2010 Chaircouple of this year's Black Tie Ball.

The evening began with a cocktail reception sponsored by McCownGordon Construction, where blue martinis where served through a spectacular  ice sculpture. Guests bid on a large silent auction of 300 items, including the brand new wine room.

Chairwoman, Beth McCown and leukemia survior, Connor Ohlson really got the crowd going during Fund the Fight Against Blood Cancers.

A lucky guest of the night was thrilled to find out she was the Jewel in the Box grand prize winner of the $13,500 stunning 5.08 carat yellow sapphire set in a diamond and platinum ring, graciously donated by Vinca on the Plaza and sponsored by Burns & McDonnell.

Our Mission Moment was prestented by Hodgkin's lymphoma suvivor, Brandon Steffen (left). Brandon wowed the crowd with his musical talents when he performed his own piece"A Battle Unforgettable" with the 18-piece Kansas City Jazz Orchestra.

Entertainment was sponsored by Dr. Shaya Ansari of St. Luke's Imaging Associates (right with guest).

Brandon (below, front middle) continued to show off his musical talents when he later joined the Kansas City Jazz Orchestra with the saxophone.

Larry Moore (left), Lymphoma Survivor, served as the Master of Ceremonies.
