Local Services

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society supports multiple programs in research, patient financial aid, public and professional education, community service, Family Support Groups, First Connection and advocacy. There is a full-time patient services manager to help families impacted by leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma.

Patient Financial Aid
The Palm Beach Area Chapter is curently supporting more than 600 patients through our patient financial aid programs. Qualified patients may receive up to $150 per year for various services. Please call the chapter for details.

Public Health Education
Current information on leukemia and related diseases is available from the Palm Beach Area Chapter by calling (561) 775-9954 or (888) 478-8550.

Family Support Groups
Our goal is to extend our reach to all patients and families in the counties we serve.

Advocacy
The Society's advocacy program aims to promote increased federal funding of biomedical research and to influence healthcare reform issues, including access to appropriate specialty care and coverage of clinical trials.

Community Service
A two-way communications program with social service agencies and treatment facilities, resource materials and support groups is provided by the chapters.

First Connection
First Connection is dedicated to helping newly diagnosed patients receive free peer support and information resources following diagnosis. This program provides newly diagnosed patients with a visit or phone call from a peer with a similar diagnosis who is currently in remission. The trained peer provides good listening skills, a sense of empathy and important referral information about The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the community when necessary.

Fundraising Programs
The above services are supported entirely by your donations. The chapter holds a wide variety of fundraising events and programs annually. If you are interesting in donating your time or your money to the mission of the Society, please contact us at (561) 775-9954
