The South Carolina Chapter is excited to announce the winner of its 2006 Man & Woman of the Year competition. This annual campaign is held in Columbia each year. The funds raised help The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society fulfill its dedication to funding blood cancer research, education, and patient services. The Society's mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
The winner was among many extraordinary candidates who fundraised for eight weeks. Every dollar they raised was counted as one "vote." The candidates with the most "votes" were crowned Man & Woman of the Year. The candidates were successful in their quest to raise funds helping to raise more the $23,000.
And the winner is:
Midlands Woman of the Year: Cynthia Durham Blair- Rogers, Townsend & Thomas, PC
Cynthia was joined by Amy Colquitt, Dr. Annette Riley-Clarke, and Lisa Stivers as candidates vying for the title of Woman of the Year.
Each candidate raised funds in honor of a Girl and Boy of the Year. The 2006 Girl and Boy of the Year are:
Girl of the Year: Kelsey Murrell
Boy of the Year: Cole Yelton
