You oughta be in pictures! The Leukemia & Lymphoma SocietySM wants to put you in pictures...lots of pictures...newspaper, billboards and magazines. You may be the special man or woman that the Society is looking for. Do you want to help cure the number one disease killer of children? If your answer is yes, then you could be our next Man or Woman of the Year!
Every year, men and women across the country are accepting the challenge to vie for the title of Man & Woman of the Year in their communities. Our philanthropic candidates raise funds during an 8 week campaign. At the campaigns' end, the man and woman raising the most money, $1 per vote, wins the coveted title. During the following year our winners "reign" in the press, on local billboards, newspapers and/or magazines. Winners of the coveted title from across the country are recognized in a national advertisement in USA Today, along with photos and recognition of the National Man & Woman of the Year.
If you would like to nominate someone from your community or are interested in running for the title yourself, please contact the local Society office near you or call Tamra Lineberger at (303) 423-8939.
Our Year 2000 winners hail from the Washington D.C. area. This is the first time in the 10 year history of the campaign that both the national man and woman have come from the same market! The are extraordinary individuals with amazing community outreach and outstanding fund raising skills! Our applause and appreciation go out to Marsha Ralls and Brett Pfeffer! Thank you!
