 | Am I a Hero? A hero is someone who is currently receiving treatment or is in remission and would like to share experiences to help others.
Why does The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society need me? We need you to help put a "face" to the reality of these diseases and provide hope for people. You will help volunteers and add a personal touch to such Society programs as Team In Training®, Light The Night® Walk and Pennies for Patients®. |
How can I help? You can help by sharing your strength and courage with others. You can make a difference that could help save lives. - Encourage an athlete who is raising money for cancer reasearch and support programs.
- Motivate school children by telling your story.
- Increase community awareness about blood cancers.
- Share your story with others who have a similar diagnosis.

What is the Society? The LLS is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. Since its founding in 1949, the Society has invested more than $550 million in research specifically targeting blood cancers.
The Central Ohio Chapter funds four researchers at the James Cancer Hospital, totalling more than $8.5 million. Last year, more than $120,000 was given to patients in our area from our Patient Financial Aid Program. |
Make a Difference
We want you to help make a difference in the lives of our volunteers and the search for blood cancer cures. We welcome all ages and anyone diagnosed with leukemia, Hodgkin or non-Hodgkin lymphoma or myeloma. This is an amazing opportunity to meet new friends and serve as an inspiration to those who are out there fighting for a cure.
