Don't
Let Insurance Restrictions Cripple Cancer
Research It is rare that Florida's
lawmakers are called upon to support an issue
that requires no legislative action. As Congress
struggles in Washington to address the issue of
health care, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
and Humana Inc. urge our leaders in the Florida
Legislature to support a health care issue that
will prove to be a tremendous benefit to cancer
patients, health care providers and insurers
alike.

Q: I
was diagnosed with myeloma and it would help me
to talk to someone who living with my disease.
Is this type of support available for me and my
family?
A: Many people who are
diagnosed with myeloma are anxious because at
first, it's hard to know what to expect or how
to cope day-to-day. Worry about one's family is
another common reaction. Please know that you
are not alone and support is available. LLS

members at every stage of diagnosis and
treatment.
First Connection is a
program that will put you in touch with a
trained peer volunteer who has "been there."
This may help you to cope with the stresses of
your diagnosis and treatment. Family members are
also eligible for this free program.
Patient and Family Support

chapters. These groups offer comfort and
understanding to patients and their families.
