The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Man & Woman of the Year event is part of a national campaign to raise funds to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Hundreds of men and women in Society chapters across the United States vie each year for the title.
The Society's Greater Los Angeles Chapter launched its 2007 Man & Woman of the Year campaign on March 14, 2007 at The Sheraton Delfina and concluded the campaign with the Grand Finale Celebration on May 17, 2007 at The Luxe on Sunset Boulevard. Candidates raised funds in honor of Mateo Franco, our Boy of the Year, and Natalie LeRaybaud, our Girl of the Year. Both children have battled a blood cancer.
After nine weeks of fundraising, our guests celebrated the outstanding achievements of our candidates at our Grand Finale Celebration, where the winners are announced.
The next Man & Woman Of The Year Campaign will take place in the Spring of 2009. For more information, contact Dede Knapp at (310) 846-4733, dede.knapp@lls.org.
